Nordson’s 112-Page “Plasticating Essentials” Is Free to Online Registrants and Covers Screws, Barrels, and Front-End Components, including Details on All Xaloy® Products

A wide-ranging new resource for extrusion and injection molding processors covers all aspects of plasticating systems, with explanations of every type of screw, barrel, and front end component, including details on related Xaloy® products from Nordson Corporation.

“Plasticating Essentials” is a comprehensive, illustrated 112-page handbook available at no cost to those who register at http://www.nordson.com/en/divisions/polymer-processing-systems/support/log-in-to-support-services.

The handbook covers numerous types of mixing and barrier screws, barrel designs, and valves and end caps. In addition there are discussions of key concepts such as screw ratios and shot size; alternatives in screw and barrel composition, coatings, and barrel heating; and issues like feeding problems, screw repair, and barrel inspection. Questionnaires are provided for establishing specifications for replacement injection or extrusion screws.
