Innovation shines at NMW 2015

With more than 200 industry-leading brands now confirmed for National Manufacturing Week (NMW 2015), May 26 - 29, Melbourne, this year's event will shine with new and innovative technologies. Manufacturers looking for new opportunities will be able to inspect new solutions from Bosch, CGB Precision Products, Adept Turnkey, Millsom Materials Handling and dozens more.

For the first time, Bosch is bringing five business units to NMW, with combined expertise in manufacturing and automation systems, incorporating Rexroth’s world class hydraulics, linear motion, drives and controls.

In a landmark display, Bosch Manufacturing Solutions will showcase an improved version of its Mechatronics unit for automated picking & placing, tightening, visioning, automated testing and more. Bosch Engineering & Technical Solutions brings its expertise in creating turn key product development, including complete Engineering, Validation, Certification and Manufacturing.

Bosch's comprehensive power tools range will be showcasing a wide variety  of innovative products to support safe and cost effective manufacturing, as well as hot water & heating systems for standard hot water needs right through to manufacturing applications up to 20MW.

The company's Alexandra Ruffell, comments "We took a regular exhibition space at last year's NMW - and customer response showed us that local manufacturers are hungry for sophisticated manufacturing solutions. So this year, we are taking up a major site and a broader Bosch team combining their expertise to work with organisation looking for high tech solutions to their manufacturing challenges."

CGB Precision Products will showcase breakthrough technologies for aviation, defence, and other advanced manufacturing applications. Among these is the latest from OAV Air Bearings - delivering lower friction, higher speed and lower torque - with indefinite life and no heat generation at high speed - for precise positioning and amazing overall performance.

CGB's MD, Bill Lingard comments, "NMW has long been the place to demonstrate game-changing technologies to business owners - and this year's event will be no exception. We're very much looking forward to talking with industry about how advances in precision products will help them realise their vision for the future."

Additionally, Adept Turnkey is demonstrating smart machine vision and automated inspection technology advances, including a new technique for inspecting products with a full 360 degree view.

Other demonstrations will include the latest Smart Cameras, Vision Appliances and 3D inspection products for small and large products. Adept Turnkey will also have its vision engineers on hand to advise on ways to reduce risk, minimise costs and maximise the efficiency of your automated inspection systems.

Millsom Materials Handling will be showcasing their new vacuum lifter Jumbo Flex 50, designed for frequent, very fast movement of items weighing up to 50 kg. The Jumbo Flex works with suction pads for different items - such as sacks - and is operated by one hand, so you can use the other hand to quickly, safely steer your sacks into place.

NMW  Exhibition Director, Anthony Reed comments, “We’re extremely proud of NMW’s role in bringing new ideas, products and services together, under the one roof, to inspire manufacturers to take their operations to the next level. This year's event is no exception: with the number of exhibitors and industry advances on display, NMW 2015 will truly be the event that brings industry together."

NMW 2015 will be colocated with Austech, the SMART Logistics conference and Australia's first complete safety event, the Safety First Conference & Expo, to harness shared energies from the manufacturing, transport, building & construction, government and broader industry sectors.

This year's event includes a raft of new features, such as the online My Event Planner which gives participants a tool for timetabling their visit and key demos, scheduling meetings and even connecting with exhibitors and other visitors ahead of NMW 2015

Registration is now open at www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au. Registration is free for the trade : and it's the best way to beat the queues when the doors open on NMW 2015 this May.
