Westpac Top 20 high potential Businesses of Tomorrow winner, Plastic Forests, is a business that is making the world a better place. With years of research completed, Plastic Forests has commercialised a unique dry cleaning process which recycles highly contaminated plastic film, rescuing it from landfill for the first time. The contaminated plastic film, which originates mainly from the food and agricultural industries, is recycled into resin or a range of high-value plastic products.

We keep plastic as plastic....even back into film products.

David Lindberg, judge and Chief Executive, Westpac Business Bank, said: “With a clear vision for growth in Australia and overseas, Plastic Forests is continuing to address global sustainability issues. Plastic Forests has been selected as a Westpac Business of Tomorrow because it is significantly impacting Australia’s communities and environment, and facilitating sustainable business practices.”

Plastic Forests won the coveted 2015 Australian Endeavour Award - Most Innovative Company and the Powercor Moira Shire Excellence in Innovation award 2015.

Plastic Forests was listed in the top 5 waste management stories for 2014 by global "Eco-Business" magazine. In addition, Plastic Forests has come to the attention of the United Nations Environment Program Division of Technology, being interviewed in relation to our world first no water recycling technology process that Plastic Forests has invented here in Australia.

Marketing of valued added products is under our trademarked brand "Green Mongrel". Products include underground cable cover, garden edging, and resin pellets.

Plastic Forests has received our first grant from the NSW Government Environmental Trust Innovation in Priority Problem Waste Management.
